I arranged for a walk in Downtown at the Gaslamp Quarter and met the couple at around 2.30pm for a 1 hour engagement session. The fun-loving and friendly couple was casually dressed in black shirts and jeans. The casual look stood out perfectly against the background of the cityscape of Gaslamp. Their look inspired me to keep this photo shoot natural, minus artificial lighting. As the couple and I got acquainted with each other, they revealed to me that met for the first time of Fifth Street, the main street of Gaslamp. This coincidence left me startled and I was content with my choice of location. The afternoon sun shining bright in the sky laid the perfect setting for the photos. The beautiful wood panelized buildings with vivid colors served as a brilliant background to the photos we shot on the street. We made a stop at the Bon Vin Winery and as Carlo and Jessica sipped the golden liquid, I resumed taking a few shots of the couple as they were immersed in each other’s company. Their faces lit up with laughter, giving me the perfect opportunity to showcase their love in a frame. The glass paneled cabinets provided excellent reflective shots. After a relaxing and refreshing stop at the Winery , we took to the streets once again and walked on. The vividness of the location from residential buildings to greens and trees provided a good transition from one setting to another and we came to the end of our photo shoot.
